Well I just got around to reading this. Perhaps my blog post was a bit too reactionary. Yes, Athan I agree with you. At my studio, where everything is all set up and configured, I'm just in the habit of opening Digital Performer first, since all my hardware and software synths are already routed and when I start a new project I can immediately access any and all of them. That's what I really like - however, it's all too easy to assume that one's preferred way of working is the only way. Your points make perfect sense - I'm dishin myself up a big bowl of crow right now. Mmmmm - that's good eatin'!
